Today, we’ll take a quick look into, RasTafari, Passover and Easter. Should we who are of the faith of RasTafari celebrate Passover or Easter?

Today, many people who are of the faith of RasTafari, and even those outside of RasTafari tend to want to celebrate Easter. But those who are truly of the faith of RasTafari knows that Easter is a pagan day.

Easter is not of the faith of RasTafari! RasTafari, the foundation and principles of the faith is based on His Majesty Haile Selassie I and the Bible.

RasTafari, Passover and Easter, should Rasta be celebrating them?

The scriptures does not speak of Easter nor does it pay respect unto Jah. Easter, which is really a celebration of the Pagan moon goddess Ishtar. During this celebration of Easter,

The children of the Most High has actually forgotten what it truly meant for us, The Passover. A time in which we celebrate the true and living Elohim, The God of Abraham, Isaac and Israel.

To be a follower of RasTafari, Christ in His kingly character, one must also acknowledge the Saviour Yahashua(Jesus) The Lamb. Everything that we do to please and to remember the Father and our Saviour,

we must do it with a sound mind understanding completely why we partake in certain things.

What is the Passover?

Passover is an extremely important time; It accomplished multiple things, when Elohim freed the Children of Israel from captivity, the most remembered memory. But what this day signifies,

is much more significant than freeing us from slavery. Passover is significant for two other majorly important reasons, 1. The time that Yahuah, the God of Israel, declared HIMself to the world and showed there is

a different more powerful God than the pagan gods that were celebrated by the pagan world, which at that period of time was Egypt in the days of Moses.

2. It was a prophetic display of our Father’s ultimate plan to save His children from the ultimate bondage of sin we are all born into.

Understanding where Passover came from

By now you’ll realize that the faith of RasTafari is tied in with that of the scriptures. Therefore, a lot of our history stems through the bible.

In the days of Moses, Egypt the great power of the world. While it is said that no one was greater than their god. However, we the children of Israel had a different God, the true and living God.

Due to being in bondage of the Egyptians at the time, many Israelites had forgotten the ways of the God of Israel. Just like today, many of us have lost or forgotten the way of the Father.

Therefore, Moses intreated Pharaoh to let his people go that they may go and serve the true and living God. Due to the hardening of Pharaohs heart, he was visited with ten different plagues,

this was to show that the Egyptians gods were nothing compared to the real and living God. For all their pagan gods had no power over the God of Israel.

The Passover Instituted

Moses and Aaron was visited by the Most High in the first month of the year, April (the first month of the year). On the 10th of April Moses and Aaron was commanded to speak to the children of Israel,

saying that every man must take a lamb for a household. The lamb, must be without blemish a male of the first year. Then they were commanded to keep it until the fourteenth day of April.

Then shall the whole congregation of the children of Israel shall kill it at twilight. Taking the blood of the lamb and putting them on the door post. This done as a sign to those who belonged unto Yahuah(GOD). Or redemption.

On that night shall the flesh of the lamb be eaten, all of it, roasted. Not boiled or raw, but roasted with unleavened bread and bitter herbs.

with what being left burned with fire. This was Yahuah’s Passover, for God passed through the land of Egypt on that night and struck every firstborn in the land of Egypt. Both man and beast.

The Passover

So upon all the gods of Egypt did Yahuah execute His judgement, declaring that He is Yahuah, the true and living God. The blood was a sign for them in the houses they were,

and when Yahuah saw the blood, He passed over them not allowing the plague to destroy them when the land of Egypt was struck. This day was a memorial for all Israelites, who today are the children of RasTafari,

we must keep this day with a feast to Yahuah throughout all generations. We must keep it as a feast by an everlasting ordinance.  Seven days shall we eat unleavened bread, therefore on the first day shall leavened bread be removed,

right up until the seventh day. Any man who eats leavened bread from the first to the seventh, shall be cut off from Israel. On the first day there should be a holy convocation.

And on the seventh day there shall be a holy convocation for you, and on those days must man not work in any manner. But only that which every man must eat.

The feast of unleavened bread must be observed, for on this day were the children of Israel brought out of the land of Egypt. Therefore shall this day be remembered throughout generations as an everlasting ordinance.

So in the first month on the fourteenth day of the month at evening, shall unleavened bread be eaten until the twenty first day of the month at evening. Nothing leavened shall be eaten in those days.

This is the Passover sacrifice unto Yahuah, who passed over the houses of the children of Israel in Egypt, when He struck the Egyptians and delivered Israel.

Exodus: Movement of Jah People

After the Egyptians witness the might and power of Yahuah, Pharaoh ordered Moses and the Israelites to depart from Egypt hastily. Pharaoh ordered them to leave with all their flocks and herds,

to go and serve the true and living God. So the children of Israel gathered their unleavened bread and their livestock and departed. About six hundred thousand men beside children,

journeyed from Ramses to Succoth, whilst also including a mixed multitude and flocks and herds. Now the sojourn of the children of Israel that lived in Egypt was four hundred and thirty years.

Now it came to pass at the end of four hundred and thirty years, on the very same day it came to pass that all the armies of Yahuah went out of the land of Egypt,

it is a night of solemn observance to Yahuah who brought us out of the land of Egypt. A solemn observance for all the children of Yahuah, the children of Israel for generations to come.

False Pagan Traditions

The world has distracted us from the true significance of Passover, with the false pagan tradition of Easter. These false pagan traditions and the worldly Christianity has replaced the significant event of Passover,

with a pagan festival celebrating the moon goddess. We must all remember the Passover.

Significance of the Passover/ Prophecy Revealed

The Passover, a type of Christ our Redeemer (Exodus 12:1-28; John 1:29; 1 Corinthians 5:6-7; 1 Peter 1: 18-19):

  1. The lamb must be without blemish, and to test this it was kept for four days (Exodus 12:5-6). So our Lord’s public life, under hostile scrutiny, was the testing which proved His holiness (Luke 11: 53-54; John 8:46; 18:38).
  2. The lamb thus tested must be killed (Exodus 12:6; John 12:24; Hebrews 9:22).
  3. The blood must be applied (Exodus 12:7). This answers to appropriation by personal faith, and refuses universalism (John 3:36).
  4. The blood thus applied of itself, without anything in addition, constituted a perfect protection from judgment (Exodus 12:13; Hebrews 10:10; 1 John 1:7). And
  5. The feast typified Christ the Bread of life, answering to the memorial supper (Matthew 26:26-28; 1 Corinthians 11:23-26). To observe the feast was a duty and privilege but not a condition of safety. The believer in Christ is saved by the blood of “the lamb slain from the foundation of the world” (Revelations 13:8), and is strengthened daily by feasting on the Word-the living Word, Christ, and the written Word, the scriptures.

Conclusion

Therefore, know that Word is in us, and we carry the Spirit of Truth, which is HIM in us. We must therefore continue to seek our history and knowledge through the scriptures,

and learn where it all started and where it’s coming from. Know that Babylon has been trying to deceive us from day one and still today trying to do the same.

They want us to forget our history and follow after their pagan ways and rituals. Therefore continue to seek truth and righteousness in HIM the Father.

I pray this may inspire you to continue to seek on your journey and learn of the truth. Know that the Bible is the rallying point of all humanity and in it man can find salvation.

We of the faith of RasTafari must know that our bloodline, and our heritage is of true importance and significance in creation. Therefore learn of it and seek out wisdom.
